1997 Fall

Warm greeting! (duh!), make that cold, this time.

Autumn, what a beautiful season. The leaves changes their color from green to red to orange to yellow to brown. It gradually changes the landscape of the country side to prepare it for the coming winter season. As the season changed, we ourselves had a lot of adjustments to make as classes started and other activities in full swing. We find ourselves in a “rat race” always catching up with our schedule. Soon, we see ourselves the “casualty” in this “fast-paced” world. But life has to go on. And so we did.

My parents came over to help us. Kyle gained his “sanity” back. And things are doing much better. It has been a wonderful season until the snow of winter began to fall. Some of the news may not be relevant by now but enjoy while you can…

Mama & Papa visit NB again!

Oct 19, Moncton – Mama & Papa arrived here just before 11AM (ADT). They left Sarnia, ON yesterday morning taking Via Rail. They had stops in Toronto and Montreal. They covered almost the whole of eastern Canada during their trip. Jr fetch them at the train station half hour later and drove another hour and 45 minutes to arrive in Fredericton. It was a nice country drive with a scenic view of the autumn foliage. Kyle & Keshia was so glad to see their Lolo and Lola again.
First Snow Fall of Autumn

Winter got to an early start this season. And not just early but a moundful of snow fell on the first week of November. It was not bad for starters because it melted a few days after. But the days became colder and temperature has not gone up above 5ÂșC.Before the snow could melt again, the first snow storm of the season came on the last week on November. School was cancelled and offices were closed at midday. It took less than a week when another snow storm came. Another 30 cm of snow fell a day after. The kids were just happy to have an “early christmas break”. (…talk about global warming, eh!) Fall weather has turned the country side into mid-winter landscape. And for the first time in New Brunswick, the ski resorts opened on the last weekend of November.

Personal Note

"Parenting is a full-time job."

Now I can sympathize with parents who are both working (or out of the house) where their kids are in their tender years (whatever age that is). Unlike in the place where we use to live where house help is abundant, we have become more aware to maximize our time with our kids and at the same time attend to other household needs. Mahirap talaga maging magulang. Our parents were very correct when they told us: “Parenting is a full-time job.” And you seldom get any vacation from it.
