Keshia added another year to her life. She turned 8. She had a swimming party at the Indoor Pool. A handful of her friends came to celebrate with her. Indeed, she has grown up a lot.

Her parents have lined up a couple of activities which she will be involve this school year. Keshia tried out for basketball camp at the YMCA. Her skills are raw but not bad for her level considering she didn’t have any basketball experience besides doing scrimmage with Kyle. The basketball camp runs throughout the fall and winter. She continues to love speed skating. She will enter the next level this October. As usual, she goes to her piano lessons. Recently, she is one of the cast in a radio drama broadcast during the Fall Fair in church on the last Sunday of September.

Summer is over. It’s back to school. Yes, it is. Just when you just started to feel the groove of summer, it’s over. August and September were not bad anyway – weatherwise and otherwise. So enjoy reading…and net-surfing…

Yes! indeed. Karen started her Office Technology program at the New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) on September 2, 1997. Keshia is now in Grade 3. And Kyle goes to day-care for the first time in his career! (I mean, life).

Karen initially applied at the University of New Brunswick. She was accepted in the Office Administration 4-year program. But after weighing her options, she enrolled at NBCC. Her course is a 60-week diploma program. Most of her subjects deals with office management as well as learning the current office suite softwares such as Microsoft Office, Perfect Office, etc… She also has to learn accounting principles and a popular accounting software. It’s been a while since Karen finished her bachelor’s degree in the Philippines but she has not lost her enthusiasm to study and learn. Incidentally, she celebrated her nth birthday in September.

Keshia is excited to be in Grade 3. Her school day is longer by one hour. Her teacher is Mrs.Patricia Wilson. She has learned to be more responsible especially with her homework. Having to go to day-care after her class, she maximizes her spare time doing her homework. One Thursday night, her parents attended her school’s “Meet the Teacher Night!”. Her parents were impressed with Keshia’s class work including a beautiful caricature of herself (including the usual black hair). A space will soon be provided in this site for her school work.

Kyle was really excited on the first day of class (day-care). He even had a back-pack with him. But two days later, he has noticed that he has stayed in the day-care long enough to miss his mama and papa and his Pal (his stuff dog) and what not. The following days were not easy for Kyle as well as for his parents. It always ends up with emotional parting. Kyle needed another week to be accustomed with the routine. The only down side to it is that Kyle is so sleepy when we fetch him in the afternoon.

Jr also went back to school. Just kidding… As usual, he goes to work. His office was recently moved to another building where there is available parking (that is if you arrive early as in 8a.m.). He is also excited working on a new environment (called Oracle which is not new to most IT people).
