Christmas 1998

It’s Christmas! We made it through the year. We had a busy year. Keshia completed another season of speed skating and basketball. Spring came and Junior’s parents who stayed with us for several months left for Ontario just as Karen’s mom (from the Philippines) came over for a visit.

Grandmother, Mother, and MeSummer arrived sooner than we can wrap things up for the school year. Karen completed the first part of her course. Keshia took her first Royal Conservatory of Music Exams (received a medal for getting the highest score among her age level group which her teacher usually gives at the end of the year).

Kyle started going to his day-care (he calls it ‘school’) as Karen had her summer job. It was a big adjustment for Kyle. It didn’t take long for him to enjoy being with his classmates. After two months of being with us, Karen’s mom then went to Ohio to be with Denny and Liza who just had a baby – Josiah Daniel, the new brother of Tirzah.

At SeawardKeshia and Kyle had their first train ride from Boston to Cleveland. It was a brief visit to their Uncle Denny in Akron, Ohio. Denny and Liza gave us a treat by spending a whole day at SeaWorld, Cleveland, Ohio.

En route to Fredericton, we spent the weekend with Junior’s brother and his family in New Jersey. They toured us around New York City. We had an opportunity to see the Statue of Liberty and a good view of the Manhattan skyline. We also took a stroll along Fifth Ave.

It was fun! School brought us back to our usual routine. . . But . . .it is always when we are comfortable when the Lord makes us uncomfortable and trust him for circumstances that we are not in control with.

And yes! It’s Christmas once again. Looking back, we can say with confidence how faithful the Lord is to us.
