It wasn’t long ago since we were breaking our backs shoveling snow. Yes! We’re Springing into Summer! We hope you were not bored waiting for an update to The Home Page. I won’t keep you waiting…go ahead and read through. We hope to hear from you soon.
Karen has been waiting the whole of winter and spring to get her flower garden started. And true enough, she was hitting the dirt on Victoria Day.
Keshia and Kyle has started their respective soccer season. Keshia is in the 11U Girls and Kyle belongs to 7U kids. Both of their teams have won all their games (2-0). Keshia scored her first ever goal on their previous game. Kyle has yet to allow the ball pass through the goal post for his team.
Keshia won first prize in Piano-Quick Study in her class during the recent Fredericton Music Festival. She also finished second and third in Piano-Sight Reading and Piano A, respectively. It is her first time to receive an award since she started joining the festival two years ago. She also played Fur Elise in their school’s spring concert.
We’re almost into summer. Keshia has completed another speedskating season. It was a successful campaign for her. She was promoted to Class B skater in the middle of the season. Her qualifying time allowed her to compete in the Eastern Canadian Speedskating Championship held at the Aitken Center in Fredericton on December 1999. You can view her skating results at Speedskating New Brunswick.
School is over! Kyle might be a little bit sad because he will miss his classmates. But then again, who wants to wake up early. The highlight for Keshia and Kyle this school year would be the fact that at one time, they went to the same school together. Keshia will be entering Jr. High (Grade 6) next school year while Kyle remains in the same elementary school as Grade 1.
Summer!…
The sound of the roaring mower,
The smell of freshly cut grass,
The bite of a stubborn black fly (aray!)…
Yes, indeed! It is summer.
So enjoy the outdoors while you can.
And don’t forget the bug lotion, my man.
I’m not sounding poetic,
You might label me an archaic.
Thank you for visiting The Home Page,
Hope to update it again after you age,
….
You know what, enough of this poetry. What I am saying is, seasons come, season go. Life is short, let’s make the best of it while we can. I’ll have more stories after our vacation…
